I don't remember where this lighthouse is.
But it's pretty.

"Little pink houses for you and me"
Becoming a trend!

Another fishing boat at the docks

Upon leaving last night's anchorage at the NC/SC
border, we picked up an errant crab pot.  Old and
rusty it would not have had any crabs anyway.
It took us awhile but we got it free from our anchor.

Going through the Waccamaw River of South Carolina

Lynn took this.  I have absolutely no idea what
this is.  She says there are birds here.

Well, you golfing fans will enjoy this.  This tram
takes you to the golf course across the ICW so you
don't have to drive all the way around.

Farther (further?) down the SC canals

Da bridge

In many parts of the ICW, decaying vegetation
colors the water a brownish color (tannin).

Cool dock, cool happy hour party place

Rare South Carolina potato stalks

Osprey Marina
And Grill
Out in the middle of ICW Nowheresville

Well, this was surely cool.
Something went by us and I didn't even know
if I had seen anything at all!
A duck hunter had completely covered
his boat in camouflage.
Do you see it?

Flotsam of underwater vegetation in a small current
going down the ICW

Our first bald eagle.
Where've ya been?

Now this is a lot of gulls.
And a lot of gulldoo.

The entrance to Georgetown, SC where we
anchored for the night

A neat little haabaa.
If we have any energy at all tomorrow, we'll
go into town for a little Joe.  If not, we'll save
it for next time.

Doggone it.  It was colder than $#%^& again.
And we're mightly tired about it.  Two pairs of socks, long johns,
jeans, waterproof coveralls, mask/hat, gloves, hot coffee.
But it surely was a unique visit down the South Carolina ICW.
Here, the ICW meanders inland so we now don't have to worry so
much about shoaling from the ocean currents (only trees that
have fallen into the narrow canals), but we're okay with that.
There were alot of houses, until there weren't any at all.
And it was quiet, with only the birds on the water and
flying all around us.

  1. Bob & Lynn, We were also in Georgetown for a spell. Nice little "old south" town. That big steel mill on the edge of town is still active. There seemed to be a good deal of industry still flourishing in those parts. Hope you two warm up soon.

  2. FE,
It rained and blowedededed all day that we never got off the boat to go into town. Will save for next time. That was our ice stop. I have cubes for one more drink, right now!
But, what the heck were you doing in Georgetown?
