What the heck happened !!

A storm on its way from the north on the

starboard side of boat

The wind shifted 180 degrees in less than a minute

after it hit

From the stern of boat only seconds before

 the wind started

Now right over us - northerly taking over!!

We came into town this afternoon and found

this Hobie catamaran lopsided.

Just when we were going to turn the sail into the

wind with our dinghy a larger boat came over and

pulled them over with a line.

Yeah, they are back up and on their way again :0)

Anyone need a dinghy???

You gotta love the front fender on this guy !

The locals are very frugal and creative!

They came in so fast I had no idea how they were

going to stop without hurting themselves or someone else!

Again.

He managed to turn that thing and stopped it partially

on top of the pier, bailed some water out of the back of 

it rather quickly and then off they went again!!

Not sure how they got away with it - but they

didn't go down this time !

I'm thinking this may be my next paint job :0)

Nick, Kathy, Bob & I went to Schooner's Wharf 

for Happy Hour.  This was the guy that was playing

music at the time.

We stopped by "Paradise Pizza" for a couple of 

slices to take home with us !! Yummm!!

I'm laughing at the headless one on the way back to our

yacht.  It was a cold and wet ride home since the northerly

came in.  This was Nick's way of staying warm and dry!

This was a big day, big, big, day !! Well it was supposed to be.  I'm still trying to get another phone since mine pretty much doesn't work at all anymore....I just hope Verizon can save my contact information! We're also still trying to get our Fl. license and lobster license but haven't done that either.  We did however make it into town and had a great time. 

It looks like this northerly is sticking around until Sunday, so rough seas are abound for a while !

We ran out of water today

What a great day today was !!  I didn't get off the boat once! 

Bob did some running around as usual.  He had to go for water, come back immediately so we could get the rest of soap off of Nick as he was in the shower when we ran out of water !!  Timing was perfect wouldn't you say !

We ended up cooking chicken on the grill and it was delicious !  Kathi & Nick had given us a gift bag and there was some seasoning in it called "Sexy Butt Sassy" so we put it on the chicken and boy was it goooood!  Then when you throw some corn on the cob and some asparagus into the mix you get one "hell of a meal!"

The rest of the night we just sat around talking and laughing about something or nothing.  What a great way to end another beautiful day !!  Bed at midnight - some kind of record for us!

Today was a busy and uneventful day in some aspects.  We went to DMV and I had all paperwork needed to get  my license except the registration for Storymaker so "no go" on the Fl. license today.  We wanted to get it so we can get our "lobster license" so we can start diving for them.  It is much cheaper to get a lobster license as a Fl. resident than a non-Fl. resident.

After MVA we met Nick & Kathi in town for lunch.  As you see, Nick & Kathy are also bikers!!  So we rode around town a bit and then went back to Storymaker for a quick nap before going out for Happy Hour at the Turtle Kraal.  

Another great end to a beautiful day in Key West !!

Well we made up today what we didn't do yesterday !  Whew, were we tired after that workhorse day ! Good thing we were able to get a 1.5 hour nap in before Nick & Kathi Gurin from Colorado Springs, Colorado got here.  They had a pretty long day themselves; they were up at 0330 and on the run since then, they arrived in Key West around 1800.

and called to tell us they couldn't make it !

We're walking around on Duval St. trying to pick

the best bar to go to for the Superbowl - Raven's Game

so we go into this place....

While looking around Durty Harry's we see a lot

of ship's plaques outside on the wall so Bob just

for the heck of it went to look for his Grandfather's

and it was the first one he saw !!

His Grandfather had a 444 foot, missile frigate ship

named after him (keel laid in 1976) for being a

WWII hero and Congressional Medal of Honor

recipient.  He retired from the Navy as a

Rear Admiral.

Well today was one of those days that just didn't go as planned :0) We have friends coming into town tomorrow, Nick & Kathi from Colorado Springs, Colorado so today was a chore day.  Well guess what, NO, it wasn't :0)  We slept late, got up and discussed what we were going to do, made ourselves very tired thinking about everything we were going to do so we had to lay down and take a nap before we could start.  Once we got up we decided we needed to go into town with the winds blowing at 20-25 mph to meet Mel & Jo for Happy Hour since they were leaving tomorrow.... they bailed out (Jo OD's on wine the night before) so we made the best of it....we ate, drank, walked Duval St., bought cookies, coconut fudge, ice cream, I got a T shirt and Bob found the USS Antrim plaque...now how much better than that can it get !!  There's always tomorrow for another day of cleaning !!
