Monday, December 31, 2012 - New Years Eve Day !!

Whata way to end 2012
Weiner Dogs!
Many, many Weiner Dogs!
A Weiner Dog Parade in Downtown Key West!

And they're off!

Weiner Dog Police Escort
(there should be no other way)

And a few more officers on heese.
Right at the beginning of the show the horse missed his bag !

Huge, huge crowd!
Maybe a million or more watching!
And since the horse missed his bag every single
weiner dog had to check out what was going on !

"Mom, I don't find this funny at all"

"I am not a mouse.  I can't believe you did this to me"

A Hobo Weiner Dog

And a bee.
This is a "Silver Dapple" Weiner Dog, according
to the owner

A joker

A tad older - traveling by cart

Cute

A Mountain Lion Weiner Dog

And a pirate!

A couple of brothers

Non-Costumed Weiner Dog

This other breed was allowed in the parade
for obvious reasons

We were famished from all the Weiner Dog activity
Paradise Pizza again !

Sloppy Joe's preparing the dropping of The Conch

Transvestites on their way somewhere.....

My beautiful babee getting ready for the town

Lynn sucking up to the officer in case we get
in trouble later

Randy & Ross at the end of the road

We ended up at Bourbon Street Pub with a
gazillion other revelers

Crowds on the top floor throwing beads.
Lynn got an awful lot of beads.

Midnight is almost there

Couple of shows featuring guys in Speedos.
It was like the Beatles at Shea Stadium
(for the girls, not me)

The dancing continues

Announcing the last hour

Waiting for Lynn.
Didn't quite make midnight, we are heading
back to the boat

Whew!  What a way to end the year; bike ride, walkabout, Weiner Dogs,
transvestites, large conch, friends, food, Duval Street.  We didn't know about the
Weiner Dog Parade.  I saw a Weiner Dog on Duval Street, and like I always do,
I yelled, "WEINER DOG!"  She said there would be many, many more Weiner
Dogs in the Parade.  So in 16 minutes, we bought a replacement camera and
raced up to the Post Office where it was starting.  And lo and behold; a Weiner Dog
Festival of all sizes, shapes, colors, & costumes!

Then the nap in preparation for the New Year's Eve celebration.  We met Randy & Ross
on Duval then kind of moseyed around a bit until we found the Bourbon Street Pub.  Then
onto some dinner with beef.  Returning to the Pub we were entertained by dancers and beads.
I ran out of steam at 2300 hours and we raced back to the boat.  It was midnight just before
we reached it but celebrated on the water the start of another beautiful year.

Happy New Year's to All !!!

Thanks for keeping up with our blog - we have much fun doing it
and hope you enjoy our travels and adventures
