Today was a good day. I cleaned poop from the birds off my canvas while Bob went bicycling into town for ice and the paper. We thought we were just going to be on the boat tonight and veg but then Gunther showed up and said they were going to have a "pot luck" dinner over at the island and asked if we were interested...I handed him a few bucks and said of course we are!
We get to the island and I'm talking with Janie and it was her idea for "pot luck" only she had a different definition in mind for "pot luck". She thought everyone would bring something and we would just feast on whatever was available. Little did she know that you don't send someone from Germany, Gunther, and have him invite everyone. His definition and hers were two totally different things ! Everyone just chipped in money and he took it back to her and told her to go shopping and to bring the meal over! She had worked all week and cooking a meal for 10+ people didn't excite her at all, but being the trooper she was, she did. She even brought the dishes and silverware! Poor thing! But in the end, the women decided on Wednesdays, we would bring something over to eat which was the true meaning of "pot luck!"
