This morning when I got up
I went over to Rat Key Island this morning
to pick up my chairs and got stranded!
Gary to the rescue!!
Steve & Cindy's boat
during our Northern winds!
She sure looks sturdy!
My sunset tonight
I sure will be glad when it's "our" sunset again!
I miss Bob!
This is since I posted the blog
Beautiful, yet wicked!!
Front of boat!
These northern winds are nothing to mess with!
Well another exciting day for me anyway.
Jayne left this morning to go back to Massachusetts to see family and work for a little while. She comes back Saturday night.
I passed Steve & Cindy and Ted (their guest) on the way into the dinghy dock late morning and thought what crazy people they were for being out in these winds knowing in a couple of hours it would get worse. She was all bundled up in a blue jacket looking a little cold. Then it dawned on me....you're as crazy as they are since you are out in it also!
Gary went over to the island this morning and brought me back one of my chairs and my black cooler. I was so grateful! He didn't know the other two belonged to me so he didn't grab them. So, me being the fool I am, decided to go and get them....besides I had to pick up an ice maker I had ordered that was delivered to the Marina. Well I get over to the island and couldn't get back out. The winds kept blowing me back into the island. I had to bring the motor up on the dinghy because it kept hitting bottom and no matter how hard I tried, or how wet I got (I was in the water waist deep trying to push it away from the island as much as I could and then trying to jump back into the boat) in the end I had to call Gary to come and rescue me. He's probably thinking next time "I'll grab the chairs, that will be easier!"
I'll be staying on the boat for the next couple of days. The winds are around 27 mph now and are supposed to be worse tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere! Now I could be a "weinie" since I'm not an expert dinghy driver and not used to the winds....but I don't think so!!
