Our sunrise in Key Largo when we left this morning

New neighbors...what a beautiful boat !

Captain Bob checking out the jib line

We're jibbing man !
It gave us an extra 1/2 knot!

Miami skyline under the Christmas lights :0)
We could see the skyline from 30 miles away.

Port shot

These guys are working way to hard to have
any fun at this sport !  But they sure are getting a
good workout!

Rickenbacker Causeway

He's racing us to the bridge !

A lot of craziness going on in the area

Dream Catcher going under the bridge

Us on the other side of bridge now

5 cruise ships are in Miami at the moment
and they are all getting ready to leave !

Just crossed under the bridge and nothing but "high rises"
Last time we came through here we had 2 dolphins greet us
That won't happen today...not with all the commotion going on
here with it being a weekend and college break!

More craziness before the 2nd bridge
Pictures just don't show what's actually
happening around us !
Bob called his parents but had to cut it short
as he had to concentrate too much to avoid
all the boats coming, going, slowing, and
cutting in front of us.

More of Miami

Wonder what this little cruise cost ?!!?

Another shot of Miami - up the Miami River

Bridge #2
A1A Bridge

"Florida Responder"

Video of area when we first came in

That's Dream Catcher in front of us
and then all of sudden "Thriller" just came
right in between the two of us...I wouldn't of
cared so much but the guy was speaking to his
audience instead of paying attention to what was
around him or even close to the controls !

Dream Catcher going under the A1A Bridge

Do you see Dream Catcher?
She had to make a sharp right right after she
got out from under the bridge

There you go!
The Bahamas Express for anyone who
would like to join us next year in the Bahamas!!

If you've seen one, you've seen them all....
but you might as well see this one too!!

The police have shut down the waterway here
for the departures of the cruise ships

A lot of cruise ships !

We are now going under the bridge and this
was one partying boat that was passing through!

Our view after making the sharp right

These guys are here to keep the peace :0)

A video of the area we are in now

Our anchorage for the night :0)

The yellow spot is where we are anchored !
South Beach Miami is at the bottom right.
"Government Cut" is the long channel where
the police close the area for all the cruise ships.

Storymaker at anchor next to Gary & Jayne

The Washington Monument in Miami
Which is actually the monument to some guy named
Flagler who built up much of the surrounding area
including the Keys and railroad from Miami to Key West

Sweet!

The sunset has begun

 It just keeps getting prettier!

And the lights come on!

And Bob thought this was kind of neat!
LED lights that move to make a dancing girl on
the front of the Inter-Continental Hotel!

A mighty fine day!  We left Key Largo at 0745 hours.  The extra hour of darkness in the morning was nice so we could sleep in.  A nice calm motoring up to Biscayne Bay where we hoisted the jib for a few hours and gained a whole knot.  A real pretty ride to Miami, we could see the skyline from 30+ miles away.

A 50 mile day we went from Mile Marker 1140 to 1090 into South Beach Miami at Belle Island.  Much money surrounds everywhere we look with the lowest priced houses we see on all the surrounding man-made islands in the low millions.  A quick nap then onto Dream Catcher where Jayne and Gary made, and cooked up on the Super Duper Smoking Machine, a fowl casserole.  A couple drinks then off to bed.
